GLA VS GLO MATCH & ANALYSIS

Vitality T20 Blast is undoubtedly the most packed T20 tournament in the world with over a hundred matches scheduled to be played in one season. The 2021 season for the Blast will begin on 9th June with four matches to be played on the day. The second day will be even more packed with five other matches to be played.

The first of the second day's matches will be played between Glamorgan and Gloucestershire, the two sides that are both packed with some supremely talented cricketers. Cricket Betting Tips Free The match is to be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on 10th June 2021.

GLA VS GLO TEAM PREVIEWS
GLAMORGAN
Glamorgan are coming off a relatively uninspiring last season and will want to deliver on all fronts in this one. They won four and lost five matches in 2020 and eventually finished fifth. Andrew Balbirinie was the pick of their batsmen last year, but for a team that had players like David Llyod, Chris Cooke, and Colin Ingram, Glamorgan disappointed their fans.

The Welsh side has plenty of experienced campaigners available at their disposal this year and that should certainly play to their advantage. Colin Ingram is as good as any and can tear apart any bowling attack on his day. Apart from him, Chris Cooke and David Llyod could really come in handy. The most notable change for this side would be the regular inclusion of Marnus Labuschagne, who scored a match-winning fifty in the last Championship match. He seems to be a lucrative option to bet on as the top scorer for Glamorgan in the upcoming match.

Even though the format is different, Glamorgan will be pumped by their fantastic win over Lancashire in the recently concluded Country Championship match. On paper, Glamorgan have a battery of experienced players who can all be match-winners on their day. Even the youngsters in Callum Taylor, Nick Selman, and Prem Sisodiya have ample experience up their sleeve. If they manage to perform to their on-paper potential, getting past them will be a colossal task for any side.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Gloucestershire were their group's best side last year and stormed to the semi-final before their campaign came to an end. They were left utterly disappointed as the semi-final was cut short due to rain, which arguably put Gloucestershire in a position of disadvantage. They would be hungry to continue from where they left off and it will be interesting to see if they can gather momentum right from the very beginning.

The main exponents for them last year were Chris Den and Ian Cockbain, who both consistently scored heaps of runs right through the competition. Gloucs have further buffed up their team with the inclusion of Glenn Phillips, who can destroy any bowling lineup in a matter of a few overs. Besides him, Daniel Worrall too can play a crucial role to take Gloucs forward this year. James Bracey, however, will not be available owing to national duty.

Gloucestershire are one of the most consistent teams in the Blast evident by the fact that they have made it to the quarter-final round four times in the last five editions. This is one punt you can safely take with this side yet again. With the likes of Ryan Higgins, Chris Dent, and Miles Hammond in addition to the players mentioned above, Gloucestershire have a terrific side. Having said that, they'll be wary of the fact that Glamorgan defeated them twice in two matches last year. If they can put that aside and put their best foot forward in this match, Gloucs should come out on top.

The restless rankle

Minutes after Virat Kohli had skied a catch into a diving Kyle Jamieson's hands at third man, he disappeared into the nets located at the back of the Bay Oval. There he would stay for the next 40 minutes or so, focusing purely on getting bat to ball. He'd in fact not even take any of his gear off upon getting back to the dressing-room and only stopped to have a quick chat with two senior support staff members. He'd just played one of the more untoward ODI innings of his career. It started with a bunch of plays and misses, where he kept poking his bat at deliveries outside his off-stump. That is before he jumped out to Tim Southee and uncharacteristically cross-batted a length delivery for six. Then came the innocuous poke of doom off Hamish Bennett. Cricket Betting Tips The Indian captain had come into the match having scored a single half-century in six white-ball innings on tour. This was Kohli showing that even the best in the world can get anxious, if not desp...

ECB announce financial aid following Covid-19 crisis

The ECB chief executive Tom Harrison has labelled the current covid-19 crisis "the biggest challenge the ECB have faced in the history of the game in the modern era" while announcing a financial aid package worth 61 million pounds to help support all levels of cricket in England. An ECB Board meeting on Tuesday (March 31) approved the package which Harrison said was designed to address the short term issues being felt across both the professional and recreational levels of the game in order to simply "keep the lights on". He did not rule out further measures as the crisis unfolds. "We are aware the effects will be long standing and they will be very significant on us," Harrison said. "We are trying to work around the clock to understand that impact and take some short term steps to help counties and recreational cubs to get through the immediate impact. "Right now we are addressing the short term and addressing it aggressively as we fe...
