Every countryman celebrates Republic Day every year on 26 January with full enthusiasm. This year the country is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day. On this special occasion, every year from India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan, a grand parade is also held on the Rajpath. Various regiments of the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy, etc. take part in this parade. Perhaps this question must have come in your mind that why do we celebrate Republic Day only on 26 January, why not on any other day. There is a very interesting history behind it. Do you know that before independence the Independence Day of the country was celebrated on some other day. Here we have brought some such interesting things related to Republic Day for you.

Know why the constitution was implemented on 26 January only

The constitution was implemented on this day on 26 January 1950, for which there were many reasons. After the country became independent, the Constituent Assembly adopted the constitution on 26 November 1949. At the same time, on 26 January 1950, the constitution was implemented with a democratic government system. On this day India was declared a full republic. One of the main reasons for implementing the Constitution on 26 January is that on this day in 1930, the Indian National Congress declared complete independence of India.

In 1929, a meeting was organized through the Indian National Congress under the chairmanship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. In which it was announced by consensus that the British government should give Dominion status to India by 26 January 1930. India's Independence Day was celebrated for the first time on this day. Independence Day was celebrated on 26 January until independence on 15 August 1947. To give importance to the date of declaration of Purna Swaraj on 26 January 1930, the Constitution was promulgated on 26 January 1950 and 26 January was declared as Republic Day.

308 members made the constitution

The constitution according to which the work is being done in the country today was drafted by Dr. Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who is known as the architect of the Indian Constitution. After many reforms and changes, 308 members of the committee signed two copies of the hand-written law on 24 January 1950, after which it was implemented in the country two days later on 26 January. To maintain the importance of 26 January, India was given a democratic identity on the same day. After the implementation of the Constitution, the already existing British law, the Government of India Act (1935), was replaced as the document of Indian governance through the Indian Constitution. That is why every year we Indians celebrate 26 January as Republic Day.

India became a republic nation on 26 January 1950 at 10:18 am. Exactly 6 minutes after that, at 10:24, Dr. Rajendra Prasad took oath as the first President of India. On this day, for the first time as President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad came out of Rashtrapati Bhavan sitting on a wagon, where he took the army salute for the first time and was given a guard of honor for the first time. On this day, along with hoisting the tricolor, national anthem, we either organize or become a part of many programs.

Republic Day program is of one week

The Republic Day program usually begins on January 24 with the announcement of the names of the children who will receive the National Bravery Award. But this time it has started from the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 23rd January. On the evening of January 25, the President delivers an address to the nation. The main program of Republic Day is organized on 26 January.

During this, a parade is taken out on the Rajpath. On January 27, the Prime Minister interacts with the NCC cadets who participated in the parade. On 29 January, Beating the Retreat program is organized at Raisina Hills. During this, the bands of the three armies march past with great melody. With this the Republic Day program would end.

The restless rankle

Minutes after Virat Kohli had skied a catch into a diving Kyle Jamieson's hands at third man, he disappeared into the nets located at the back of the Bay Oval. There he would stay for the next 40 minutes or so, focusing purely on getting bat to ball. He'd in fact not even take any of his gear off upon getting back to the dressing-room and only stopped to have a quick chat with two senior support staff members. He'd just played one of the more untoward ODI innings of his career. It started with a bunch of plays and misses, where he kept poking his bat at deliveries outside his off-stump. That is before he jumped out to Tim Southee and uncharacteristically cross-batted a length delivery for six. Then came the innocuous poke of doom off Hamish Bennett. Cricket Betting Tips The Indian captain had come into the match having scored a single half-century in six white-ball innings on tour. This was Kohli showing that even the best in the world can get anxious, if not desp...

ECB announce financial aid following Covid-19 crisis

The ECB chief executive Tom Harrison has labelled the current covid-19 crisis "the biggest challenge the ECB have faced in the history of the game in the modern era" while announcing a financial aid package worth 61 million pounds to help support all levels of cricket in England. An ECB Board meeting on Tuesday (March 31) approved the package which Harrison said was designed to address the short term issues being felt across both the professional and recreational levels of the game in order to simply "keep the lights on". He did not rule out further measures as the crisis unfolds. "We are aware the effects will be long standing and they will be very significant on us," Harrison said. "We are trying to work around the clock to understand that impact and take some short term steps to help counties and recreational cubs to get through the immediate impact. "Right now we are addressing the short term and addressing it aggressively as we fe...
